Camper & Counselor Registration Information
You must have Prader Willi Syndrome to attend. You must be at least 8 years of age to attend. These are the only two requirements for attending "People With Smiles" Camp. There are only 40 spots available and will be filled on a 'first come, first serve' basis. The theme this year is OLYMPICS !!! Don't just be a Spectator ... come join us!! Our past Athletes have shown great Sportsmanship and Stamina! We will continue to carry the Torch with pride! Every Camper is VICTORIOUS!!! Registration Deadline: April 15th !!!
ALL Campers must fill out Registration Forms and return to the address on the forms. A complete physical with physicians signature is required to be completed every other year. PLEASE PRINT THE "CAMPER REGISTRATION" FORMS BY CLICKING ON THE BUTTON BELOW. If you would like to have a "People With Smiles" Camp Manual - click on the DOWNLOAD CAMP MANUAL button below and print. The Camp Manual will include things like: What To Bring, Camp Schedule, Contact Information, etc. Grants available upon approval.
What Do Our Counselor's Do?
Job Title: Camp Counselor
Training (Optional): Thursday, July 7th, 2016 – Counselor’s Night Only! Let us show our Appreciation for your joining us!!
Essential Functions:
Supervise 1:1 person between the age of 8 and up with their day-to-day routine including in the dorms and overnight. Assist and Participate in scheduled camp activities. Assist in recreational activities and programs. The counselor will need to be available the entire duration of the camp and be with assigned camper at all times.
Desired Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age. Desire an ability to work with persons with PWS of intellectual disabilities of all levels. Good leadership, communication and teamwork skills. Good character, integrity, and adaptability. Friendly, personable, enthusiastic, responsible, sense of humor and patience. Interest or background in special needs is not necessary, but desirable.
Welcome & Thank You for dedicating your time & hearts to our 6th annual PWS specific camp. Our Campers require 1:1 Counselors. If you haven't worked with persons who have PWS before, NOT TO WORRY! We will have training available and plenty of assistance for you. It's not difficult as everything is well organized. Most of all ... you will leave with a FULL heart! Counselor Tuition - FREE!!!
